Please tell the person classifying your car if you think it is in the wrong class at the time of classification.

There are usually ten categories on the judging sheet. The amount of points for each varies but the points will add up to 100. It is the judge's discretion to use half points when judging. All cars in a class are judged by the same judge to keep the scoring consistent.

In the "Body Paint" category the judge will be looking for paint match, body panel/seam alignment, and workmanship. If your paint is faded or rusted in spots or if poor bodywork is evident then your car will lose points.

In the "Engine" category the judges will be looking for cleanliness and workmanshipas well as all the wiring harnesses and hoses. They must be neatly secured and routed properly. This includes under side of hood, inner fender walls and firewall.

In the "interior" category they will be looking for interior fit, rug and door panel fit and workmanship. If your interior shows signs of wear or any rips, if your carpets are worn or your door panels are worn or misaligned, you will lose points.

In the "Chrome/Brightwork" category they will be looking for cloudiness or discoloring as well as pits in the chrome. Also scratches in the stainless trim will result in loss of points. If your car has no chrome or brightwork then you shouldn't be in a class with cars that do.

In the "Chassis" category the judges will be looking for cleanliness of the under carriage. If you have leaks or excessive dirt on your under carriage you will lose points.

In the "Wheels & Tires" catergory they will be looking for matching tires and wheels or hubcaps. If the tires are dry rotted or cracked or mismatched then you will lose points.

In the "Glass Lenses" category they will be looking for fading or cracks in all the glasses and lenses.

In the "Literature Safety" category they will be looking for up to five items such as dealer promotional literature, first aid kit or fire extinguisher.

Whether you are stock or modified, all cars are judged on their own merit. You are not judged by how many trophies you have won in the past or by your display. Remember, you brought your car out to compete against other cars in your class . Yor car is expected to look it's absolute BEST in order to win a first place trophy.

If by some chance you wind up as the "only" car in your class, it does not guarantee a first place. If your score is low you could wind up with a second or third place.

Judging sheets will be made available by sending a stamped self addressed envelope to the show promoter after the show.
